stei.itb.ac.id –<\/strong> The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Institut Teknologi Bandung, once again achieved international recognition through its participation in the International-Singapore Intergenerational National Games (I-SING2025). In this year\u2019s competition, the Indonesian team\u2014consisting of Prof. Dr. Ir. Suhono Harso Supangkat, M.Eng.; Prof. Ir. Armein Z.R. Langi, M.Sc., Ph.D.; and Allya Paramita Koesoema, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.\u2014won 1st Runner Up in the international competition category. In addition, Indonesia earned remarkable achievements at the national level as Local Champion, 1st Place, and 2nd Place.<\/p>\n

I-SING is an expansion of the Singapore Intergenerational National Games (SING), a community-based program proven effective in engaging seniors through exergaming technology. The program aims to promote active and healthy aging, aligning with the Healthier SG initiative. First introduced in 2016 by researchers at the Centre for Healthy and Sustainable Cities (CHESS), the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, and funded by A*STAR, SING has evolved into a pioneering exergaming competition that fosters digital inclusion, physical activity, and intergenerational interaction. .<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Since its inception, the program has gone through three iterations and successfully engaged nearly 1,000 seniors from 30 Senior Activity Centres (SAC) in Singapore. In 2018, international participation from Finland, France, Japan, and Taiwan strengthened SING\u2019s position as a global event under the name International-Singapore Intergenerational National Games (I-SING).<\/p>\n

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the I-SING program was revived in 2023 with funding support from the Global Elderly Active Research (GEAR) initiative, promoted by ARISE. The research program runs from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2026, involving Active Ageing Centres (AAC) across Singapore and additional international collaborators. Furthermore, I-SING has been selected as a whitelisted program by the Agency of Integrated Care (AIC)\u2014an important recognition that allows the program to be implemented in more than 200 AACs in Singapore. .<\/em> .<\/p>\n

I-SING offers numerous benefits, including strengthening intergenerational connections, providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment, and adopting an evidence-based approach to ensure program effectiveness for seniors.<\/p>\n

The I-SING organizers extended their congratulations to the ITB team for their achievements and announced that the trophies and medals will be delivered in the coming days. The awards received by the ITB team include:<\/p>\n

  • Indonesia: Local Champion Medal, 1st Place Medal, and 2nd Place Medal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
