The competition centers on innovation in Electrical Engineering and supports efforts toward renewable energy transition through a series of technical and scientific challenges. Activities began in late September and culminated on 2 December 2025 in the final round held at Universitas Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In this event, two SEEI ITB teams\u2014\u201cAroes Koeat\u201d and \u201cOhm My God\u201d\u2014participated in the Study Case Competition, while another SEEI ITB team competed in the Idea Competition category. The study case challenge assigned to the \u201cAroes Koeat\u201d and \u201cOhm My God\u201d teams focused on reducing a small island in Sumba\u2019s dependence on a PLTD-based power system by designing renewable energy solutions using a combination of PV (solar), wind power, and batteries, aiming for 80\u2013100% renewable energy penetration while maintaining affordable electricity costs.<em>. <\/em>And <em>.<\/em> .<em>. <\/em>And <em>.<\/em> \u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cAroes Koeat\u201d team presented a project titled \u201cDesign of a Hybrid Energy System Based on Solar PV, Wind Power, Diesel Generators, and BESS to Enhance Reliability and Renewable Energy Penetration on Remote Islands in Sumba.\u201d In their work, they applied concepts learned in coursework, supported by generator capacity optimization using Excel\u2019s Solver feature. Their approach also referred to national energy programs and regulations, including the dieselization reduction initiative, the Net Zero Emission target, and energy policies such as Ministerial Regulations (Permen ESDM) and the RUPTL roadmap. The team included economic analysis and projected energy demand through 2045 to ensure that the proposed solution was both realistic and forward-looking. Ahead of the final round, the team prepared a presentation deck, practiced an 8-minute pitching session, and anticipated judges' questions to strengthen their delivery. The \u201cAroes Koeat\u201d team consisted of Roni Septian, Adnein Hasna Al-Achyar, and Raffa Andhika Ilham. <em>.<\/em> .<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fullwidth\" ><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_custom_1765336963557\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-6\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div  class=\"wpb_single_image wpb_content_element vc_align_center wpb_content_element\">\n\t\t\n\t\t<figure class=\"wpb_wrapper vc_figure\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"vc_single_image-wrapper   vc_box_border_grey\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/stei.itb.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/NationalElektrical-Summit-1.jpg\" class=\"vc_single_image-img attachment-large\" alt=\"\" title=\"NationalElektrical Summit - 1\" \/><\/div>\n\t\t<\/figure>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-6\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div  class=\"wpb_single_image wpb_content_element vc_align_center wpb_content_element\">\n\t\t\n\t\t<figure class=\"wpb_wrapper vc_figure\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"vc_single_image-wrapper   vc_box_border_grey\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/stei.itb.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/NationalElektrical-Summit-2.jpg\" class=\"vc_single_image-img attachment-large\" alt=\"\" title=\"NationalElektrical Summit - 2\" \/><\/div>\n\t\t<\/figure>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fullwidth\" ><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_custom_1765336963557\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>Meanwhile, the \u201cOhm My God\u201d team also developed a renewable energy solution using solar PV, wind, and battery storage to address the same study case. The team leader handled the core technical aspects, while Abie focused on research into technological innovations, and David analyzed socioeconomic impacts and economic feasibility. Clear task distribution and well-structured work targets served as their main strategy in completing the challenge. Despite difficulties in aligning schedules due to individual commitments, the team managed to maintain consistent progress by regularly updating their work and optimizing discussion time. The competition provided an opportunity for the team to apply knowledge from the 2024 Power Engineering curriculum while aligning technical innovations with real-world conditions. The \u201cOhm My God\u201d team consisted of Natanael C. Pangaribuan, Abizar Diaz Ulhaq, and Raffa Dominikus David.<\/p>\n<p>The SEEI ITB team that secured 3rd Place in the Idea Competition proposed an innovative concept involving microalgae cultivation using Metal\u2013Organic Framework (MOF) technology installed along highway shoulders to generate electricity for the grid, supported by a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The idea originated from discussions during their internship and evolved into a cross-disciplinary collaboration, recognizing that integrating knowledge from different fields was their key strength. The team consisted of Marcelinus Aryo Wicaksono, who worked on biogas-to-electricity conversion and electrical system configuration and simulation using DIgSILENT; Hanif Yusran Makarim (SITH ITB), who handled microalgae processing into biogas through thermal pretreatment; and Ravi Adriansyah (FTMD ITB), who focused on MOF technology for microalgae cultivation and performed CO\u2082 absorption simulations. <em>.<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The achievements of SEEI ITB students at the National Electrical Summit UI 2025 demonstrate their academic excellence and strong problem-solving capabilities in addressing future energy challenges.
