The 2025 IEEE International Conference on Data and Software Engineering (ICoDSE)<\/strong> was successfully held in Batam, Kepulauan Riau<\/strong>, Indonesia, marking a significant milestone in the eleven-year legacy of the conference. With the theme \u201cGenerative AI Meets Data and Software Engineering: Challenges and Innovations\u201d<\/em>, this year\u2019s event spotlighted the latest developments in artificial intelligence and their transformative role in data and software systems.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Hosted at the Technopreneur Centre of Politeknik Negeri Batam<\/strong>, ICoDSE 2025 welcomed contributions from across the globe. The conference was jointly organized by the Knowledge and Software Engineering Research Group<\/strong> of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB)<\/strong>, in collaboration with Politeknik Negeri Batam<\/strong>, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (Malaysia)<\/strong>, and Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH)<\/strong>. This hybrid-format event allowed participants to attend either in person or virtually, ensuring inclusivity and wide participation.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme attracted 273 paper submissions<\/strong> from 17 countries<\/strong>, including Indonesia, Brazil, Germany, Canada, India, and the United States. After a rigorous peer-review process, 90 papers<\/strong> were accepted for presentation, including 4 papers in a special session on Generative AI for Education<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Two primary tracks anchored the program:<\/p>\n

  • Software Engineering Track<\/strong>: featuring discussions on agile methods, software architecture, quality assurance, service-oriented architecture, and cloud computing.<\/li>\n
  • Data Engineering Track<\/strong>: with topics on knowledge discovery, distributed databases, big data, information security, and semantic web technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In addition to traditional topics, ICoDSE 2025 encouraged research aligned with emerging needs, including:<\/p>\n

    • Generative AI for simulation, anomaly detection, and creative design<\/li>\n
    • AutoML, Model Deployment, and MLOps<\/li>\n
    • XR\/AR\/VR applications for education and healthcare<\/li>\n
    • Digital twins and data privacy in AI systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Their sessions inspired engaging conversations among participants and highlighted the urgent need to combine software engineering rigor with AI experimentation in a trustworthy and ethical way.<\/p>\n

          Workshop \u201cPractical LLMs: Utilizing Language Models for Industry Challenges\u201d Successfully Held at ICoDSE 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

          As part of the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Data and Software Engineering (ICoDSE), the hands-on workshop \u201cPractical LLMs: Utilizing Language Models for Industry Challenges\u201d was successfully conducted on September 20\u201321, 2025, at Technopark, Politeknik Negeri Batam.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

          The workshop was held in a hybrid format to accommodate high participant enthusiasm, attracting a total of 72 participants \u2014 from universities, industry professionals, and AI enthusiasts across Indonesia.<\/p>\n

              Sessions and Hands-on Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Over two days, participants engaged in a comprehensive series of lectures and hands-on sessions covering both conceptual and practical aspects.<\/p>\n

              Participants gained both theoretical understanding and practical experience in building LLM-based applications, implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and integrating multimodal AI workflows using n8n.<\/p>\n
