What is TCFFHRC?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Trinity College Fire-Fighting Home Robot Contest (TCFFHRC) is an annual intelligent firefighting robot competition held at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. The competition, which has been running for 19 years, has become the standard reference for firefighting robot competitions in various schools and universities around the world. The competition rules in the TCFFHRC competition are adopted in robot competitions in various countries, from regional to national levels. Indonesia also adopted the competition rules at the TCFFHRC in the Indonesian Intelligent Robot Contest, for the wheeled robot category and the legged robot category.<\/p>\n

There are several competition divisions at TCFFHRC. In the Fire-Fighting division, robots intelligently and independently try to find fires in a maze that resembles a house layout, extinguish them, and then return to their original location. The fire-fighting division is generally divided into two: the wheeled robot division and the legged robot division. In the RoboWaiter division, robots are tasked with accompanying people with disabilities, where the robot is tasked with taking plates from tables\/cupboards and moving them to other tables. There are two categories in RoboWaiter: Entry Level and Advanced.<\/p>\n

Indonesian Robot Team<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the 2011 National Indonesian Intelligent Robot Contest, the wheeled intelligent robot team from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITTelkom Bandung) won first place in the KRCI wheeled robot category, and the legged intelligent robot team from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) won first place in the KRCI legged robot category. As an award from the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the wheeled intelligent robot team from the Bandung Institute of Technology and the legged intelligent robot team from the Bandung Institute of Technology were given funding to participate in the 2012 Trinity College Fire Fighting Robot Contest International Robot Competition.<\/p>\n

In the 2012 TCFFRC competition, the ITTelkom Bandung intelligent wheeled robot team brought three wheeled robots, and succeeded in winning first place (Hamazar team) and second place (Garuda #1 team). While the ITB intelligent legged robot team brought 2 legged robots, and succeeded in winning second place (Yaqut team) and third place (Aqabah team). In addition to the robot teams that competed with DIKTI funds, there were also three teams from Indonesia that went and competed at the TCFFHRC with their own funds, namely the intelligent wheeled robot team from the Bandung Institute of Technology that brought two wheeled robots, the intelligent legged robot team from the Telkom Bandung Institute of Technology that brought one legged robot, the RoboWaiter team from the Telkom Bandung Institute of Technology that brought one robot, and the RoboWaiter intelligent robot team from the Indonesian Computer University (Unikom) that brought 3 RoboWaiter robots.<\/p>\n

The legged intelligent robot team from ITTelkom Bandung successfully won first place (Arjuna team), the RoboWaiter intelligent robot team from Unikom successfully won first place for the RoboWaiter Entry Level category (DU99RWS4-V12 team). The Unikom RoboWaiter team also won first place (DU99RWE4-V12 team) and second place (DU99RWE-V12 team) for the RoboWaiter Advanced Level category. Meanwhile, the wheeled robot team from ITB and RoboWaiter from ITTelkom have not yet managed to win the title.<\/p>\n
