BANDUNG, itb.ac.id \u2013 The Electrical Engineering and Informatics Doctoral Program, School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Bandung Institute of Technology (STEI ITB), held a socialization event regarding registration and lectures for the Electrical Engineering and Informatics Doctoral Program on Monday, September 7, 2022. The event was led by the Head of the Electrical Engineering and Informatics Doctoral Program, Dr. Umar Khayam, ST, MT.<\/p>\n

Dr. Umar explained that the ITB Electrical and Informatics Engineering doctoral program has been accredited A and is divided into 9 research areas. Starting from Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Computer Systems and Control. Dr. Umar also explained various innovations that have been developed by various expertise groups at STEI ITB. Starting from 5G internet cards to Electric Cars.<\/p>\n

These programs are designed to enable graduates to demonstrate their ability and skills in independent research in one or more of the aforementioned fields, demonstrating original research. The results of this research are also expected to enhance existing knowledge in electrical engineering and informatics or uncover new problems that, according to engineering principles, can be proven beyond doubt in a dissertation.<\/p>\n

Overall, there are 42 credits of regular study for ITB's Electrical and Informatics Engineering doctoral students. \"For face-to-face lectures, there are 5 credits for compulsory courses and 6 credits for elective courses. The majority of the doctoral study will be filled with research, totaling 29 credits,\" explained Dr. Umar.<\/p>\n

For the remainder, there are weekly seminars worth two credits. Numerous facilities are also provided, such as laboratories, residency rooms, publication assistance, and online journals.<\/p>\n

The doctoral program has several stages. The first stage is qualification, followed by a proposal, which is completed in semesters 1 and 2. Doctoral students must then conduct research, which is scheduled for semester 5. The final stage is the dissertation examination in semester 6.<\/p>\n

In addition, STEI ITB has several additional requirements for registering for this program. First, applicants must have a TOEFL score and a TPA score of 500 or higher. Furthermore, applicants must have contacted their prospective promoters and obtained recommendations and a willingness to mentor them. A list of promoters and a prospective promoter willingness form can be accessed on the STEI ITB Doctoral Program website. In total, six registration waves are available. Registration for the first wave began on February 8, 2022. The final registration date for the STEI ITB doctoral program wave 6 is July 15, 2022.<\/p>\n
