Dr. Joko Suryana is a lecturer and senior researcher at the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) ITB, with expertise in radio telecommunications, microwave and satellite systems, and radar systems. He earned his Doctorate from ITB in 2009 with a dissertation entitled \u201c1-13 GHz Tropical Outdoor Ultrawideband Channel Characterization for Communications and Sensing Applications\u201d. Currently, he is assigned to the Radio and Microwave Telecommunications Laboratory of STEI ITB.<\/p>\n

Since 2004, Dr. Joko Suryana has taught various courses, including Radar and Navigation Systems, Radar-Signal Processing, Remote Sensing System, Communication Electronics, Mobile and Fixed Satellite Communication Systems, Special Topics on Radio Technology, Mobile Core Network, and Industrial Placement.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

As a principal and senior researcher, Dr. Joko Suryana has led various strategic projects, such as the development of the Primary Surveillance Radar TRL8 antenna system prototype (2024, LPIK ITB), Frequency Scanning Phased Array Radar for Mortar Locator (2025, RistekDikti), and Passive Radar 50 MHz \u2013 18 GHz (2017-2020, Kemahan), as well as the Long Range Radar GCI S-band (2021\u20132026, Kemhan). He is also involved in innovative projects such as the development of 5G waveform-based UWB active radar, 5G co-existence strategy on the C-band for BRISat, and the design of the LintasArta hub station for multi-ground station satellites.<\/p>\n

Dr. Joko Suryana has produced more than 90 scientific publications in international journals and conferences, including research on the characterization of UAV communication channels, antipodal Vivaldi antennas, and Ka-band satellite communication systems in tropical environments. Some of his recent publications include \u201cCharacterization of A2G UAV Communication Channels under Rician Fading Conditions\u201d (2025) and \u201cDesign and Implementation of Commercial 2.45 GHz Wireless Power Transmission System for UAV\u201d (2024).<\/p>\n

With extensive academic and research experience, Dr. Joko Suryana continues to contribute to the development of telecommunication and radar technology, supporting national and international innovation in the field of electrical engineering.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
