Studium General “Three Faces of AI in Cybersecurity: Attacker, Defender, Victim”
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The Studium Generale titled “Three Faces of AI in Cybersecurity: Attacker, Defender, Victim” was held on Monday, 17 November 2025, in Room 9134, West GKU Building, ITB Ganesha Campus, and was accessible both onsite and online via Zoom and live streaming services.
The event featured Alexey Lukatsky, Managing Director of Cybersecurity Business and Consultant at Positive Technologies. In his presentation, Lukatsky discussed the role of AI in the three major dimensions of cybersecurity: as an Attacker, Defender, and Victim. . . ., . . ..
The session was moderated by Dr. Phil. Eng. Hari Purnama, S.Si., M.Si., a faculty member of SEEI ITB. The discussion proceeded interactively, with participants from various backgrounds, particularly SEEI ITB students.

Lukatsky provided an overview of how AI technologies can be utilized across different contexts of cyber attacks and cyber defense, while also opening discussions on the challenges faced as these technologies continue to evolve. . .
In conclusion, AI presents both opportunities and threats. In cybersecurity, AI is valuable for recognizing attack patterns and strengthening defense mechanisms. However, advancements in AI also introduce greater risks, including the use of LLMs for conducting attacks. Misuse of AI, such as increasingly sophisticated deepfakes, also emerges as a serious threat.
Through this event, participants gained meaningful insights from cybersecurity practitioners regarding the application of AI in cyber defense and the various risks that may arise alongside the rapid development of AI technologies. . .
