I Gusti Bagus Baskara Nugraha is an academic and researcher specializing in information systems and information technology. He completed his undergraduate and master degree in Electrical Engineering at ITB in 1994 and 1999, respectively.

He pursued his doctorate at Graduate School of Information Systems, The University of Electro-Communications (UEC), Tokyo, Japan, and obtained his Ph.D in 2006. He then continued working at the same university as research associate and assistant professor. From 2011, he started work as lecturer at the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and also a member of the Information Technology Research Group ITB. His work emphasizes the integration of technology, data, and organizational processes to support secure, scalable, and effective information systems, including in smart cities and cyber-physical system. Currently, he has been working on the trust and trustworthiness of systems in accordance with the advancement of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, that require robust security guarantees, transparent decision-making, and verifiable mechanisms to ensure reliability, accountability, and ethical use across socio-technical environments.
